Although it launched amidst humble beginnings in 2007 as a seller of personalised gift items to businesses, today Mukesh Bansal's brainchild Myntra has emerged as India's largest online seller of branded apparel. With an ambitious target of generating Rs.20,000 crore in gross sales by 2020, the company is clearly focusing on hitting the accelerator on its sales growth through widened product offerings, increased warehouse capacity and spending incremental amounts on its marketing efforts.
As it sets about on the ambitious goal of transforming into India's one stop online fashion destination, the e-retailer has its work cut out. No wonder then, that at the core of Myntra's philosophy is what Sachin Arora, Myntra's Chief Customer Experience Officer refers to as 'Customer WOW'. A value ingrained within the online platform's DNA that focuses on creating the best experience for customers, lending itself to customised offers, attractive price propositions and innovative engagement. However, recently Myntra decided to provide this very experience to a set of people who are as important for the company as its customers, if not more: its employees.
As part of this unique undertaking, Myntra launched the 'warehouse staff makeover' early this month where 12 staff members volunteered to participate in the activity to get a complete makeover from Myntra's in-house stylists that ranged from styling their hair, to finding the perfect outfit and accessories to match.
Apart from generating goodwill internally, the campaign that was broadcast over the world wide web also generated significant chatter on digital platforms. As Arora tells us, "We witnessed the activity creating buzz on social platforms with over 1.5 lakh views on YouTube and Facebook. Most of all, it has helped boost morale and self-confidence for the warehouse staff who participated in this, and also brought surprise and smiles to their colleagues, families and friends."
Take a look at this campaign to see why these makeovers are bringing smiles both to Myntra's employees and its customers.
